Khomeini writes in his book titled _’Al Hukoomatul Islaamiyyah WA Wilaatul Faqih’_
“ان من ضرورات مذهبنا ان لأئمتنا مع الله تغالى مقاما لا يسع ملكا مقربا و لا نبيا مرسلا”
“From the fundamental beliefs of our religion is that our Imaams have a position with Allah Ta’ala that none of the Angels not any of the Ambiyaa aspire of.”
As we can see Shias believe that their 12 Imaams hold a position higher than that of Hazrat Moosa عليه السلام, higher than that of Hazrat Esa عليه السلام, higher than that of Hazrat Dawood, Sulaimaan and Nooh عليهم السلام. You name them, these 12 Imaams are higher than them.
There is something extremely fishy about this. When you have people of such a high caliber and Allah Ta’ala is completely silent about it in the Quraan e Kareem.
On the other hand you find another group, who have ‘usurped’ the positions – Allegedly – of these great Imaams, And the Quraan e Kareem has some very nice things to say about them.
The Quraan e Kareem says about them:
وَالسَّابِقُونَ الْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُمْ بِإِحْسَانٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhājirīn and the Anṣār and those who followed them with good conduct – Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him.
(Surah At-Tawbah Aayah 100)
SubhaanAllah!!! Allah Ta’ala is pleased with them.
If these are people that did something as bad as take away the position that Allah Ta’ala has given to Hazrat Ali Ibne Abi Taalib رضى الله عنه, would they be praised in the Quraan e Kareem in this manner ??? Or perhaps when this Aayah was revealed – Naouthubillah Thumma Naouthubillah – Did Allah Ta’ala not know what they would do in the future ???
Yes it is as bad as it sounds that Naouthubillah – Allah Ta’ala didn’t not know what they would do in the future. Yes the shias also go to the extent to make this claim, according to them it is known as Badaa. This is also one of their beliefs. That Allah Ta’ala didn’t know and later he came to realise and therefore revision had to be done. Naouthubillah.
But we find that Allah Ta’ala speaks about these Sahaba رضى الله عنهم and he says:
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِينَ آوَوا وَّنَصَرُوا
Those who made Hijrah and those who made Nusrah. The Muhaajireen and the Ansaar.
(Surah Al-Anfaal Aayah 72)
You want to see a believer –
أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ حَقًّا
They are the true believers.
(Surah Al-Anfaal Aayah 4)
You find the Quraan e Kareem speaking loftily about people such as this.
And the people on the other side they say that: No! This does not refer to them (the Sahaba رضى الله عنهم) if it refers to them then Allah Ta’ala probably didn’t know what he was saying. Naouthubillah.
This is a claim that has been made by the Shia throughout history. And it is based on this that the ediface of Shaism was raised. On the claims of people who created ideas of their own, like that of Imaamah, and they forced this idea and grafted it onto the body of Islam. And anything in Islam that didn’t fit with it (their beliefs) was bent, curved and knocked into submission.
- If the Quraan e Kareem is silent on the Imaams and the concept of Imaamah then: “Somebody tampered with the Quraan.” Naouthubillah.
- If the Quraan e Kareem speaks nicely about the Sahaba رضى الله عنهم then: “Somebody tampered with the Quraan.” Naouthubillah.
- If the Ahadeeth e Mubarakah speaks highly of the Sahaabah رضى الله عنهم then: “Someone invented those Ahadeeth.” Naouthubillah.
But the only non negotiable aspect is the idea of Imaamah. The idea that they are 12 people whom Allah Ta’ala sent to rule this Ummah even tho this concept in nowhere mentioned in the Quraan e Kareem. Moreover, why did the Shia stop at 12? Is the ummah not in need of an imam now, more than ever before?
Surely there is something really fishy about this.
- The question begs to be answered as to why in history, not every imam was accepted by the Shia by concensus. Based on this disagreement, they split into many splinter groups, each one trying to fight off the other.
